I have heard it said that a picture is worth a thousand words. Here is my picture:
I was cleaning the house Friday night and decided to straighten the avalanche on my night stand. I put my bible beside my bed so I would remember to read a few scriptures before going to bed. I was trying to start a nightly routine. There is nothing like going to bed with the peaceful and sweet reassurance from the Word of God. So, that being said, I was very convicted to find that my good intentions got buried amongst the mail, catalogs, magazines, work assignments, etc. I work in an Elementary School library and bring books home to read so I know what the children are reading and also when I find out what they are interested in, I can recommend a particular book. So, I have all of that stacked up too.
I have found though, good intentions are not always enough to help me remember. I am trying to devise a strategy to help me remember. So, tell me, when do you read your bible? What helps you remember? Do you have a set time everyday? What works for you?
I’m terrible at breaking out the Bible. I’m totally open to suggestions though 🙂
Maybe put it on top of the pillow so you are forced to remove it before crawling in? Then maybe you’ll feel guilty for putting it aside? I think that might work for me 🙂
Hey….now that’s an idea! I will have to try that!
